Thursday evenings
6.30 pm for a 5k run / walk- $5 for members / guests
Saturday mornings

8.00 am for 5k run / walk

Winter season - 7.30 am start for longer distance

Summer season - 8.00am start for longer distance

Information 

Athletics East Fun Runners/Walkers

The major focus of this group is training for and participation in the regular community fun runs around Sydney, such as the City to Surf, Maroubra Fun Run and the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon. The group also organise a trip to the Gold Coast in July each year to participate in the various events (10km, Half Marathon and Marathon). There is a huge emphasis on the ‘fun’ aspect of this training, and if there is a fun run happening, you can be sure there will be a breakfast or a dinner organised.

All abilities and ages are catered for; from walkers to runners trying to achieve their personal best times. The coach (Wayne Morgan) will help you define your running or walking goals, and will guide you towards them during our challenging training sessions ($5 per training session). Besides the weekly training session, the group meets for other runs during the week; Thursday evening for a 5km run, and Saturday mornings for a 5km run or walk. Members training for varying events may do longer runs on Saturday morning.

Whether you consider yourself a slow or a fast runner, there is always someone close to your ability so that you can either chase or be chased, depending on whether your goal is to compete or just to have fun.
