2019 Sydney 10 Results

A new fast course at Homebush coupled with the perfect running conditions greeted runners at the annual 10km NSW road race.  With a record number of runners in attendance the stage was set for some fast running.

Karl Baddeley was off the start line quickly as he and Godwin Mugarula ran together over the 10km course.  Godwin pulled away to lead the men’s team home in 33:23 but Karl’s aggressive running paid off with a huge pb of 33.54.

Further back,  James Costello (34.48), Michael Mangli-Vincent (34.49) PB and Darren Purcell (35.12) worked nicely together to finish within a few placings of each other, whilst Andrew Harris joined in running a PB of 40.51 and debutant Chris Stone ran gallantly to finish in 41.45.

In the ladies Lisa Thompson ran a course pb of 38.32 with a slightly over aggressive start and Rona MacNiven havd a fantastic run showing her new longer training regime was paying off running 40.57. The ladies team had strong support from Rebecca Holmes (42.39) and Sally Hannah (43.43) with results still TBD.

In the 5km event 15 year old Ruby Madden ran an incredible 18.25 and Darren Purcell doubled up with a sold 17.47.
