The 1500 relays had a bit of everything with some rain showers, DQ’s and golden results. The ladies started proceedings with gold in the 200+, smashing the state record in the process and gold in the 160+ The men followed suit with gold again in the 160+ plus gold and a 6th place in the 200+ – a great start to the weekend and a good nights work.
Saturday
AE men’s sprint relay teams hit the podium for the first time since 2017 with 160+ 4 x 200 and 120+ 4 x 400 participation. The Ken Cross track team, and Karel, ran impressively to secure silver in 400 then bronze in 200 breaking the club record in the process.
The ladies 200+ Shot team were unfortunate to be in an event with a large increase in participation over last year but still finished in 5th place.
The 800’s produced more medal performances with ladies 160+ gold and silver, men’s 160+ gold and silver, and the 240+team finishing with a great bronze performance.
