A new 4 lap course around Homebush coupled with ideal conditions, produced some fast times from team AE on Sunday 25th August.
Karl Baddeley led home a strong men’s team, racing close to pb time but fading slightly in the final stages recording 1:15:55. Michael Mangili-Vincent ran strongly showing he is in great shape for his upcoming marathon, running a new PB of 1:16:42 with Josh Thompson continuing his season of a PB in every race he runs, taking over 6 minutes off his previous best with a time of 1:17:31. Chris Stone also took home a new PB running close to the 90min mark for a majority of the race and finishing in 1:32:28.
Our ladies team was a little diluted this year but 4 ladies managed to get around the course injury free which helped to secure the team win. Lisa Thompson returned from a 3 month injury stint to lead the girls home in 1:30:42, followed by Cindy Paisio who stepped up a long way in distance in 1:34:10. Jennifer Cabasson and Naomi Tancred ran comfortably together as their Sunday long run with Jen pulling away over the closing stages to finish in 1:36:48 and Naomi 1:40:18.
Finally Nicole Hutton raced over the 7km and with some perfect pacing by her partner managed to finish in the top 10, in 7th place.
