Following a wet and cold week Scarborough Park turned on the sunshine although still retained the wet continuing the previous seasons true cross-country spirit.
AE had 8 teams across the age groups. All members performed extremely well on all accounts, some were returning from injury, others regaining fitness and many up for the challenge. This was the second year of the dual relay format, and it certainly produced an exciting and interesting race format not just to run but also to watch.
Keith and Campbell started the day off with a strong win in the 60+.
The following race had all the other age groups starting together, both male and female which made it a struggle to keep up with everyone. Jimmy and Goddy followed the 60+ result by winning the 30+ division. Peter Sweeny & Mark with Chammy & Ken scooped 2nd and 3rd respectively in 50+ division. Rona & Kylie 3rd in the 40+, Naomi & Bec having a big run to finish 1st in the 50+ with Sally & Jackie 4th and Robyn & Mons 5th.
Jackie’s shoe decided it had had enough of the wet course and had a blowout on her second run with the sole flapping from the heel forwards making it very difficult to run.
