The 2025 NSW State Relay Championships were held at Blacktown with 10 AE teams taking to the track and field in a fantastic display of depth, teamwork and club spirit. The results were outstanding — eight teams brought home medals, and several club records were set or broken across the two days.
One of the standout achievements of the weekend came from the 240+ Women’s Shot Put team, who not only set the club record but smashed the State/Meet Record, an incredible accomplishment and a highlight.
A huge thank-you goes to Lyn, who generously volunteered on Friday evening and again on Saturday morning, and then continued to assist with lap splits. Your support made a big difference.
The Championships also welcomed several first-time relay competitors — Evan, Olivia, David D, and Steph — along with club debuts for Geoff, Cathy R, Susan and Cathie S. Their enthusiasm and strong performances added great energy to the AE squad.
Special thanks to Rebecca and Geoff, each of whom stepped up to run three times to help ensure teams were complete and competitive and to Olivia running in the men’s teams. A shout-out to Ken and Darren, who jumped in to fill the shot put positions for the Men’s 240+ team — true team players.
Overall, it was a brilliant weekend for AE: medals, records, teamwork, and a club spirit that shone from first event to last. Well done to everyone involved!
