Not all years will be the same as many things change over a year. Some things are completely out of our hands and the only thing that remains constant is the commitment and effort shown by those that don the purple and green come final time.
The team this year achieved a fighting 4th place which even though similar to last year it was done with a smaller and older averaged team. When our opposition is considered our team stand alone proudly with what they produced.
All performances of choice on the day produced worthy results, to compliment this there were some outstanding fill in performances. None more so than Robyn Smith Shot and a 3rd in the High Jump, Rebecca Holmes 100, 400, 2×100 relay, Sally Hannah – 2×100 relay, Darren Purcell – Javelin, Peter Sweeny – 400 + HJ, David Stuckey – HJ, 2×100 relay, Lyn Collins – HJ, Larissa Stanley – LJ.
Big thanks to Lyn for helping to provide the necessary volunteer quota on the day.
Even though the 4th was with us again we will continue to strive towards top 3 and won’t go to the dark side to achieve it.
